This is a collection of my photos that were taken around Brisbane between 1990 and 1993. Graffiti back then was fresh, there was no security at the yards, there were very few transit police and you could backride a train for as far as you wanted to go. Nobody knew what was going on. You could do run-ups at midday, drop tags with paint on Central station's walls with ease and trespass without fear. We even had keys for the trains. Most of these photos where shot just walkin' the lines in broad daylight by stepping off the end of the platform and exploring the terrain. Nobody gave a damn. It seems so long ago, the lines are still there, but the graff is buried deep... Take a trip back in time. If you were a writer around then you will know the names and you will remember the burners. There must have been something in the fumes back then because writers were hungry and crews were constantly active. Bombing was going down and burners were going up. There was a war goin on between certain crews and the hype was intense. The air was electric and you could smell the fresh paint everywhere you went if you were a writer... If the wall is still there then the burner is too. Layers of paint may cover and fill the panorama but deep underneath, hundreds of layers of paint deep is the burner, it still lives, it's still alive cocooned in enamel and aching to be seen. Thats the way graffiti works... style is transformed and regurgitated, absorbed and reborn. Burners from the past will be a part of the future. Nothing is truely new, it all has influence in the past and the past lives on, on the wall and in our minds, on cell and in every piece you see today, for all eternity. ...continued at 'Intro' INSURANCE LOANS MORTGAGE ATTORNEY
